## Description

## Our Team

Since the 2026 season, Audi has been competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The new team has three locations. The Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Formula 1 factory of Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Audi Motorsport Technology Center in UK is in its launch phase and growing continuously.

Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

## Your Mission

As an intern, you will be directly involved in current testing processes. Next semester, the following internships will be available within the department:

### Focus: Application

In this internship, you will support the application of high-performance combustion engines for race usage. You will work on engine map calibration, analyse measurement data, and assist in optimizing engine control parameters. You will gain insights into engine management systems and learn how thermodynamic and mechanical requirements are implemented in practice. The development and maintenance of application tools (Matlab, Python) complete the range of tasks.

Typical tasks:

- Preparation and execution of test bench experiments for map optimization

- Analysis of measurement data (e.g., pressure curves, temperatures, lambda values)

- Support in the calibration of ECUs

- Contribution to the documentation and evaluation of test results

### Focus: Mechanical Testing and Failure Analysis

In this internship, you will work on the mechanical design, testing, and failure analysis of engine and power train components. You will support the evaluation of component loads, materials, and manufacturing processes, as well as the investigation of damage cases. You will gain insights into the relationships between mechanical stress, material behavior, and reliability.

Typical tasks:

- Preparation and execution of mechanical tests

- Analysis of component loads and wear patterns

- Investigation of damage cases and execution of material analysis

- Contribution to the derivation of measures to improve reliability

- Documentation and presentation of test results

## Your Profile

- Successfully completed basic studies in a technical degree programme specialising in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or fluid mechanics

- Knowledge of the functionality of combustion engines (mechanics and thermodynamics)

- Knowledge of measurement technology, tribology and materials science

- Basic knowledge of common programming languages

- Good basic technical understanding

- Basic knowledge of engine management systems

- Goal-orientated, independent and structured way of working and interest in motorsport
