## Description

We are seeking an Equity Research Analyst to join our Media team at Barclays. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with senior analysts to produce comprehensive research reports and presentations while monitoring market trends, economic indicators, and company news to update and refine investment solutions.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Analyse market, sector, corporate, and economic data to develop investment theses and produce high-quality research

- Present research views to Barclays clients through direct interactions, virtual meetings, and written communications

- Engage with Markets, Client Strategy, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of research and prioritise interaction with key clients

- Provide insights and research views to internal clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks

- Collaborate with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure research is produced and delivered in a compliant manner

**Assistant Vice President Expectations:**

- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness

- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver impactful work

- Set objectives, coach employees, and appraise performance relative to objectives

**Requirements:**

- Ability to conduct detailed analysis and valuation of companies

- Proficiency in financial modelling and interpreting highly detailed financial statements

- Deep understanding of the specific industry or sector being covered with relevant experience

- Solid written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to effectively convey research investment recommendations to clients

**Nice to Have:**

- Familiarity with financial software and databases such as Bloomberg and advanced Excel

- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with institutional clients

- CFA/ACA accreditation

- Passion for the media space

- Previous experience with own stock coverage
