## Description

Join School in the Square's 'relationships-first' team as a part-time after-school teacher/aide. Work in a tuition-free public charter school in Washington Heights and Inwood, NYC.

Our Elementary School, 'Dos Amigos', is a Dual Language PreK-5th grade program focusing on bilingual immersion and social-emotional learning. We're seeking dedicated, mission-aligned part-time after-school assistant teachers with a passion for bilingual immersion.

As an after-school team member, you'll assist in various classes and activities, supporting students' overall well-being. Your duties will include:

- Providing help with student arrival and dismissal

- Supervising student transitions to daily activities

- Assisting with attendance and supervising students

- Organizing and distributing supplies

- Helping with snack distribution and clean-up

- Supervising students during after-care programs

- Collaborating with the after-school manager and coordinator

- Supervising students during outdoor activities

- Ensuring proper technology usage

- Working alongside other adults in a lead or assistant teacher role

- Covering classes when absences occur

You'll also contribute to a collaborative staff learning community by:

- Modeling life-long learning through professional development

- Utilizing constructive feedback to enhance your work

- Demonstrating teamwork and cooperation

- Engaging in respectful and critical dialogue

- Maintaining optimism and flexibility

- Following school protocols

- Helping build and improve programming

Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

The pay rate for this role is $25.00 an hour. This is a part-time role and does not include benefits.
