## Description

This position combines the roles of Patient Care Tech (PCT) and Health Unit Coordinator (HUC).

As a PCT, you will assist the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional.

As a HUC, you will facilitate unit organisation and patient care by assisting in the coordination of patient, nursing, physician, and other healthcare provider office and clerical activities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Prioritise and deliver basic patient care, including toileting, bathing, and linen changes

- Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients

- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families

- Report and record patient care findings and data in a timely manner

- Collaborate with RN and other members of the interdisciplinary team for best patient care

- Perform non-nursing duties as delegated, such as cleaning, stocking, and answering phones

- Implement plan of care as delegated

- Foster a safe environment by complying with the safety policy and taking appropriate action in an emergency

**Requirements:**

- Current Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in the state of practice

- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers

- Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- CNA experience or applicable healthcare experience

- Current enrollment in nursing school

- Basic computer skills

- Experience as a Secretary in a hospital

- Experience using electronic medical records

- Experience with word processing software

- Basic understanding of medical terminology

**Shift Details:**

- Part-time, 24 hours per week

- Mix of days, nights, and weekends

**Salary:** $18.40 - $23.92 per hour
