## Description

As a Manager, Data Scientist at Capital One's Small Business Bank (SBB), you will lead the next wave of disruption in the financial industry using data-driven decision-making.

The SBB Data Science team brings a relentless focus to the craft of data science, spanning statistics, machine learning, and emerging AI technologies. You will partner across the organization to optimize the performance and impact of financial products, policies, and services delivered to customers.

**Responsibilities:**

- Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver a product customers love

- Leverage a broad stack of technologies, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more, to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of data

- Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

- Develop account-level lifetime value (NPV) models that forecast revenue and cost drivers to power strategic decision-making across SBB

**Requirements:**

- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field)

- At least 1 year of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis

- At least 1 year of experience working with machine learning

- At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) plus 3 years of experience in data analytics

- At least 1 year of experience working with AWS

- At least 4 years of experience in Python, Dask, Spark, etc. for large-scale data analysis

- At least 4 years of experience with machine learning and statistical modeling

- At least 4 years of experience with SQL

**Salary:** $197,300 - $225,100 per year
