## Description

Working as a Starbucks Barista at Target means being part of a team that provides a consistent experience for guests. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, preparing handcrafted beverages and food, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.

As a Starbucks Barista, your typical day will include:

- Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth shopping experience

- Preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food

- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace, including the dining area and equipment

- Working effectively as part of a team to achieve sales and customer satisfaction goals

- Following all Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent experience for guests

- Maintaining an inviting dining area for guests throughout your shift

- Engaging with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards

- Producing handcrafted beverages and food to specifications on recipe cards

- Following all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive food items

- Completing and recording all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space

- Locating and identifying damaged, recalled, or expired items and processing according to best practices

- Ensuring accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices

- Following proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory

- Executing sampling best practices

- Completing all required training requirements and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products

- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance

- Working in a safe manner at all times and reporting hazards

- Supporting guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up, and Drive-up

To be successful in this role, you should:

- Enjoy interacting and helping others

- Thrive in a fast-moving, highly active, and physically demanding role

- Be open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts

- Have previous Starbucks or food service experience, although this is not essential

- Possess a welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and team members

- Be able to communicate effectively on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment

- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team

- Be able to resolve guest questions quickly and efficiently

- Possess attention to detail and be able to follow multi-step processes

- Be capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment

In terms of physical demands, you should be able to:

- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues

- Interpret instructions, reports, and information

- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed

- Climb up and down ladders if needed

- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely

- Lift or move product up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally

- Work in environments that include refrigeration and freezer temperatures and conditions

- Be capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
