## Description

Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale , unleashing the potential of businesses and people.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Streams UI team, where you'll have the chance to shape and enhance our user interface, making it more intuitive and engaging for our users.

In this role, you'll work on Fleet, the central management experience for Elastic Agent in Kibana, and Streams, our new tool for handling log data.

**Responsibilities**

- Design and implement intuitive user interface components that enhance user commitment, using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.

- Own complex, loosely-defined problems end-to-end: shape the approach, split the work if needed, make the key technical decisions, and deliver.

- Lead discussions on architecture and system design, considering trade-offs, backwards compatibility, performance, and scale.

- Establish coding standards and ensure the team adheres to them throughout the development process.

- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

- Collaborate async across timezones with a fully-distributed team, working in the open on GitHub and in Slack.

- Partner closely with designers and product managers to apprehend user experience goals and translate their mockups into functional UI components.

**Requirements**

- Solid production experience with full-stack JavaScript, preferably TypeScript; React on the front end and Node.js on the back end.

- A track record of leading non-trivial projects end-to-end, with real design ownership and minimal guidance.

- Proficient architecture and system-design judgment, including in large, existing codebases.

- Successfully designed and launched multiple user interface components that significantly increased user commitment.

- Experience using AI-assisted development tools.

- Exemplary written and verbal communication, and a genuine excitement for async collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

- A multiplier mindset; you make the engineers around you better.

- A generalist streak and a user-focused mindset, with consideration for the people using your software.

**Nice to Have**

- Experience with the Elastic stack, observability tooling, or log/data-ingestion pipelines.

- Go, Kubernetes, or cloud-native application development experience.

- Experience building large user interfaces that manage a lot of data.

- Prior open-source / working-in-the-open experience, or time on a developer-facing platform team.

- Experience mentoring engineers or leading a small project team.

**Compensation**

The typical starting salary range for this role is: €55,800-€88,300 EUR.

**Benefits**

- Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary.

- Health coverage for you and your family in many locations.

- Ability to craft your calendar with flexible locations and schedules for many roles.

- Generous number of vacation days each year.

- Increase your impact - We match up to $2000 (or local currency equivalent) for financial donations and service.

- Up to 40 hours each year to use toward volunteer projects you love.

- Embracing parenthood with minimum of 16 weeks of parental leave.
