## Description

## Job Purpose

To support the Collections Manager and engage members in communication to resolve outstanding delinquent accounts and minimize losses to Honda FCU and its members while maintaining a high level of member service and professionalism when dealing with difficult and sensitive situations.

## Key Accountabilities

- Loan loss prevention and recovery

- Specialty collection tasks 1) bankruptcy 2) foreclosure 3) modifications 4) repossession 5) fraud reviews/filings 6) Regulation response/strategy

- Review and update credit bureaus, mobile deposits, returned checks, deposit fraud, and Service Members Civil Relief Act

- Writing accurate and concise notes and documentation in appropriate collection system

- Ongoing education and training for self and department training/cross-training

- Assist department manager with reports, projects, software/system administration and team updates

- Oversee department daily job duties and assigns and reviews completed work

## Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

- High school diploma or general education degree

- Two years' experience in a credit union or collections environment

- Working knowledge of state and federal collection laws and procedures

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

- Reasoning ability to solve problems

- Member service and communication skills

- Negotiation skills

- Ability to train, support, and motivate teams in a one-on-one or group setting
