## About the Role

As a Staff Data Scientist at Airwallex, you will play a crucial role in driving strategic and operational decisions through data analysis, forecasting, and storytelling. You will lead the data science team, provide technical mentorship, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform business strategies.

## Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership to the data science team, mentoring team members and defining the team's long-term vision.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, applying data expertise to inform strategic decisions and drive business outcomes.

- Conduct quantitative analysis, data mining, and forecasting to answer critical business questions.

- Develop and monitor key business metrics, identifying trends and assessing performance.

- Evolve data science capabilities, transitioning from individual analyses to scalable decision-support systems.

## Requirements

- 8+ years of industry experience.

- Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, or Economics.

- Proven experience in communicating analytical results to leadership and cross-functional teams.

- Technical mentorship experience in data science or quantitative analysis.

- Expertise in data-querying languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python), and/or statistical software (R).

## Work Environment

- Hybrid work arrangement, with three days a week in the London office.
