## Description

We are seeking an Assistant Engineer to join our Structures Investigation Group (SIG) in Basingstoke. As part of our team, you will work on a variety of projects involving the inspection and investigation of highway and railway structures, such as bridges, tunnels, and buildings.

Your role will involve assisting in the delivery of detailed inspections and investigations, including planning, organising, executing, and reporting on site works. You will also contribute to the development of procedures and the maintenance of specialist equipment.

Responsibilities include:

- Assisting in the delivery of detailed inspections and investigations of engineered structures

- Preparing desk studies, briefs, and CAD sketches for proposals and reports

- Executing structure inspections and investigations, including planning and undertaking site work

- Producing schedules for laboratory testing of materials samples

- Preparing factual and interpretive testing reports

- Managing delivery of allocated tasks or a suitable programme of work

- Demonstrating compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities

- Contributing to technical excellence and innovation within the team

Qualifications:

- MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering

- Graduate membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers, British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing, or Institution of Structural Engineers

- Knowledge or experience of condition assessment testing and monitoring of structures

- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, with previous AutoCAD experience being advantageous
