## Job Overview

Join Carta, a leading platform for private capital, as a Senior Software Engineer II on the Know Your Customer (KYC) team. You'll play a key role in building and scaling the compliance infrastructure that powers transactions in private markets.

## The Team You'll Work With

The KYC team is responsible for screening over 1.5 million entities per year across Carta's fund administration, Carta Law, and LP KYC-as-a-service offerings. Currently, the team is re-architecting a fragmented set of products into a unified KYC platform, offering a mix of greenfield build and strategic integration opportunities.

## Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer II, KYC, you will:

- Lead technically complex projects from concept to production, ensuring high standards for performance and reliability.

- Identify opportunities to simplify code and infrastructure, prioritizing changes with measurable business impact.

- Utilize modern AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate workflow, improve code quality, and solve high-level logic problems.

- Mentor and coach peers, raising the technical bar through PR reviews and architectural guidance.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design to build the right solutions for users.

## Requirements

- Experience with Python, Django, React, Postgres, and Kafka (or willingness to learn).

- Ability to break down complex user stories into actionable tasks and execute them with minimal guidance.

- Strategic mindset with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to stakeholders.

- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.

## Salary

The minimum cash compensation range for this role is:

- $212,500 - $250,000 for New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Santa Clara, CA

- $201,875 - $237,500 for Seattle, WA
