## Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Energy, Resources, and Industry sector, focusing on electric distribution projects, primarily for aerial networks, medium and low voltage.

As an electrical engineer in distribution networks, you will apply your technical expertise to provide safe, reliable, and constructible solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients from our Laval office.

Your Impact:

- Design, analyse, verify, and approve electrical distribution network engineering, including new networks and modifications to existing installations.

- Conduct technical analyses and design calculations, including load and capacity calculations, conductor sizing, transformer selection, pole and protection device specification.

- Evaluate electrical and mechanical constraints on overhead lines, including pole loads, conductor stresses, guy wires, anchors, clearances, and structural configurations.

- Prepare, verify, and approve engineering deliverables, including plans, specifications, electrical diagrams, material lists, cost estimates, and technical reports.

- Perform or oversee site surveys and develop solutions adapted to existing conditions, applicable standards, and client requirements.

- Support project execution from design to construction, participating in technical meetings, addressing site queries, and analysing required changes.

- Guide engineering students, technicians, and drafters, acting as a technical reference for aerial electric distribution network design.

- Contribute to continuous improvement of technical methods, tools, and standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

Distinguishing Competencies:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

- Professional Engineer status with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligibility to become one quickly (mandatory).

- Relevant experience in electric distribution network design, preferably in medium and low-voltage aerial distribution.

- Strong understanding of aerial electric line design, including conductors, poles, guys, anchors, transformers, and protection equipment.

- Mastery of principles related to load calculations, network capacity, voltage drops, and distribution network protection, as well as mechanical aspects of overhead lines.

- Experience with Hydro-Québec Distribution standards, criteria, and practices is highly valued.

- Familiarity with electric distribution tools such as PLS-CADD, SIG, AGIL, SAP/PS, SimPAS, SimBT, DUSS, or DUC2 is an asset.

- Ability to conduct site visits, interpret plans and surveys, and develop safe, reliable, constructible, and economically efficient solutions.

- ASP construction card.

- Excellent French proficiency, spoken and written.

- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
