## Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a Technical Artist to work on World and Resource Data Systems. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of art, game technology, and machine learning data.

As a Technical Artist, you will design and implement workflows to extract, organize, normalize, and validate structured resources and world information from our organization's content processing pipelines for research purposes.

Responsibilities:

- Design and implement workflows to extract meshes, materials, textures, skeletons, animations, levels, prefabs, and related metadata from game content processing pipelines.

- Preserve scene hierarchies, transformations, interdependencies, variants, coordinate systems, units, and other relationships necessary to correctly reconstruct content.

- Extract and organize world information, including collisions, navigation, cameras, lighting, environmental parameters, and level composition.

- Define representations and exchange formats that enable game resources to be exploited through machine learning and research workflows.

- Create automated validation mechanisms to confirm that extracted resources and scenes retain expected visual, structural, and technical fidelity.

- Link resource and world data to relevant metadata, such as sources, versions, scenes, and captures, so that researchers can understand their provenance and context.

- Identify third-party, licensed, sensitive, or restricted content and ensure it is filtered and handled appropriately.

- Collaborate with infrastructure and data teams to organize extracted content in planned storage and discovery systems.

- Collaborate with researchers specializing in neural motion, world models, neural rendering, and environment generation to transform recurring needs into reusable workflows.

Requirements:

- At least 7 years of experience in technical art, content processing pipelines, tools, or game development, including AAA titles.

- Strong understanding of the artistic aspects of games and content production processing pipelines.

- Experience working with 3D resource formats, scene graphs, materials, textures, skeletons, animations, level data, and coordinate system transformations.

- Familiarity with major game engines like Frostbite, Unreal, Unity, or proprietary technologies.

- Proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting language for automating content processing pipelines.

- Experience developing or improving digital content creation tools, game engine tools, or resource processing tools.

- Experience validating visual and technical fidelity during resource conversion or processing pipeline stages.

- Knowledge of data requirements for machine learning, neural rendering, movement systems, world models, or procedural world construction is an asset.

We offer a competitive salary range of $122,300 - $170,700 CAD, depending on location. Our benefits package includes vacation time, sick leave, health and dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and a retirement plan.
