## Description

You will engineer the future with Synopsys, a leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems. As a Staff Engineer in Applications Engineering, you will support customer engagements on advanced-node designs at 7nm, 5nm, and below using Fusion Compiler and ICC2. Your expertise will help engineering teams hit PPA targets under real schedule and resource constraints.

You will develop and enhance physical design methodologies and automation solutions using TCL, Python, and Perl to improve design quality, predictability, and team efficiency across the RTL-to-GDS flow. You will debug complex physical design challenges, build and deliver methodology recommendations tailored to customer design constraints, and contribute to AI-assisted and machine learning-driven design optimization initiatives.

Your impact will include enabling customers to achieve timing closure and tape-out success on advanced-node designs, building automation and methodology improvements, shaping the roadmap of Synopsys physical design tools, reducing design cycle time, and mentoring field teams and customers on advanced physical design techniques.

To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field with 5+ years of hands-on ASIC physical design experience, or a master's degree with 3+ years of experience. You should be proficient with industry-standard implementation tools, have strong scripting and automation skills, and a solid understanding of advanced-node design challenges.

Rewards and benefits include a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits.
