## Description

Samsara, a recently public company listed on NYSE under the ticker symbol IOT, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with its R&D organization. The successful candidate will drive quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify cost optimization opportunities, build reporting and attribution frameworks to track AI spend, support month-end close procedures, and drive forecast models.

The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role is remote and open to candidates residing in Canada.

Key responsibilities include:

- Partnering with engineering leaders to manage headcount, software, and AI vendor spend

- Analyzing financial results and preparing monthly and quarterly management reporting

- Supporting financial review meetings with R&D and Finance leadership

- Collaborating with Accounting on month-end close activities, cost classification, and reporting requests

- Driving AOP planning with R&D teams

- Improving the accuracy and scalability of existing financial reporting and forecasting models

- Developing new mechanisms, analysis, or KPIs to inspect business performance

- Leveraging AI tools to streamline financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis workflows

Minimum requirements for the role include:

- 3+ years of experience in FP&A/Strategic Finance/Big 4 Accounting/Investment Banking

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

- High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem-solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis

- Experience at a high-growth tech company

- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

- Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Headcount & SaaS cost modeling and management, proficiency with AI tools, Databricks, and FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning, and prior partnership with software engineering teams.
