## Description

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer (IC3) to join our Core Accounting team at Wise. The team focuses on running financial processes in an efficient, scalable, and controlled manner, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering key initiatives and functionalities in the team, such as designing, developing, and testing applications using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and React in a microservices environment.

Responsibilities:

- Design, shape, develop, and test applications using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and React

- Participate in the development of our ledger as a service, aggregation pipeline for financials, and 3rd party integrations

- Learn and take ownership of the 3rd party systems we use in finance and how we integrate with them

- Work cross-functionally in squads to drive the mission of making ledger and financials more timely, accurate, and controlled

- Create clear and helpful interfaces, whilst maintaining consistency, maintainability, and performance

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize product requirements

- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to our coding standards

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our codebase

Qualifications:

- Technical Leadership & Delivery: Own large-scale projects, lead the technical roadmap, and deliver significant initiatives

- Product & Strategic Impact: Drive the technical roadmap, provide strong feedback on product roadmaps, and articulate the customer problem and expected impact

- Mentorship & Team Excellence: Mentor engineers, lead the onboarding process for new engineers, and ensure the team follows Wise's engineering best practices

- Technical Expertise: Expert-level knowledge in backend technologies, solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and system design

- Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to coach and develop other engineers, excellent communication skills, and ownership mindset
