## Description

A Mission Manager at Palantir is responsible for enabling US Government customers and vendors to run software securely and compliantly in sensitive environments. The role involves working closely with forward-deployed and customer engineers to understand product gaps and identify improvements. The ideal candidate will have experience with Kubernetes, the broader OSS ecosystem, and highly technical service lifecycle semantics. They will also be able to build and evolve APIs to satisfy runtime needs and work closely with stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working closely with forward-deployed and customer engineers to understand product gaps and identify improvements

- Engaging with and internalizing Palantir's infrastructure strategy and the needs of customer stakeholders

- Deeply understanding and leveraging K8s primitives, the broader OSS ecosystem around K8s, and highly technical service lifecycle semantics to solve business-critical problems at scale

- Building and evolving APIs through which in-house and customer software developers interact with K8s to satisfy their runtime needs

- Working closely with stakeholders to enable sustainable and timely delivery of technical solutions

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of professional software development experience, 1+ years of experience contributing to system design or architecture, and strong coding skills in Go, Java, or equivalent. They will also have experience designing, building, and operating high-scale observability or infrastructure systems.
