## Description

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join its newly created Forward Deployed Engineering team.

The successful candidate will work on application modernisation projects with customers, evaluating, building, and applying tools, and providing feedback to MongoDB's R&D teams.

Responsibilities:

- Contribute to customer application modernisation initiatives across the application lifecycle

- Test drive MongoDB migration products and deliver concise feedback to the development organisation

- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to influence the direction of the MongoDB product roadmap

- Execute POCs, develop or extend existing tools, and maintain a broad and deep technical understanding of the product line

- Work as part of a wider delivery team and assist sales teams in evaluating opportunities with prospects and customers

- Willingness to work on site with customers for 7 days per month

Requirements:

- 4+ years of experience as a field engineer, professional services consultant, or full stack developer working directly with Enterprise clients

- Proficiency in Java or C#

- Strong knowledge about enterprise-scale software architectures and application development methodologies

- Experience developing enterprise applications using relational databases and MongoDB

- Problem-solving skills and great communication skills

- Good understanding of Generative AI concepts, tools, and services

Success Measures:

- Develop a playbook for customer application modernisation engagements

- Communicate complex technical proposals simply and convincingly

- Provide unique insight into customer needs and product requirements

- Gain the reputation as a trusted advisor with field teams and customers
