We're on a mission to make money work for everyone, simplifying banking and providing a range of financial services.

As a Backend Engineer III at Monzo, you will be part of a team of around 650 engineers designing and building our in-house banking platform.

Responsibilities:

- You will work on building and maintaining our backend technology products

- You will be involved in solving problems and changing lives through Monzo's products

- You will collaborate across disciplines to tackle interesting challenges throughout the company

Requirements:

- Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product

- Product mindset with a focus on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions

- Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity

- Interest in distributed systems and writing resilient software

- Experience with strongly-typed languages such as Go, Java, C, Scala etc.

Nice to Have:

- Experience with Go, Cassandra, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Envoy Proxy, AWS, GCP, React
