## Description

As a Principal Associate, Data Scientist on Capital One's People Strategy & Analytics team, you'll apply analytics to talent, combining AI, machine learning, and social science to build models that understand associate behavior, improve HR efficiency, and inform strategies to expand Capital One's talent advantage.

**Responsibilities:**

- Build NLP and machine learning models through all phases of development

- Apply expertise in open-source large language models through prompt engineering and evaluation metric frameworks

- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver industry-leading HR tools and AI-powered products

- Leverage technologies like Python, SQL, AWS, and more to reveal insights in large volumes of data

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate complex data science work into tangible business outcomes

**Requirements:**

- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field)

- 5+ years of experience performing data analytics (for Bachelor's degree), 3+ years (for Master's degree), or PhD in a quantitative field

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master's Degree in STEM field plus 3 years of experience in data analytics, or PhD in STEM field

- Experience working with AWS, Python, machine learning, SQL, relational databases, and AI/ML tools

**Salary Range:** $161,800 - $184,600 per year
