**Job Purpose:** Responsible for performing quality-oriented tasks associated with inspection to ensure aircraft engine parts, sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and installations are built to type design and meet the requirements of the Quality Management System.

**Key Accountabilities:**

- Perform a variety of visual inspections, including visual inspection for surface defects of metallic parts, composite parts, and welds, and perforation inspection and light leak inspection of laser-drilled holes.

- Perform basic dimensional inspection layouts using height gauges, callipers, micrometres, pin gauges, profile projectors, contracer, and other basic measurement equipment.

- Operate CMM and other inspection equipment using pre-defined programs and work instructions.

- Prepare test samples for evaluation, including cutting, mounting, and polishing of optical samples and separation of filter debris for SEM analysis.

- Evaluate supplier-provided certifications to confirm material acceptability.

- Perform other inspection-related tasks, as directed by Quality Management.

**Qualifications & Experience:**

- High School Diploma.

- 2 years performing inspections in an aerospace environment, or equivalent experience.

**Skills:**

- Strong attention to detail and adherence to established processes.

- Experience with visual inspection and characterisation of surface defects.

- Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) experience, a plus.

- Knowledge and basic understanding of tooling, gauges, specifications, and procedures.

- Moderate knowledge and understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and techniques.

- Experience with common gaging such as:

- Callipers

- Micrometres

- Bore gauges

- Height gauges.

- Blueprint reading skills for interpretation of drawings, notes, revisions, GD&T, tolerances, and symbols a plus.

- Knowledge of MS Office products.

- Ability to work within a team.

**Working Conditions:**

- Climate-controlled laboratory environment precision measurement.

- The performance of this position routinely requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, and safety shoes.

- Ability to lift up to 30-lbs.

- 20/20 corrected vision and no colour blindness.
