## Description

As a Senior Associate, Data Scientist - Bureau Data Strategy at Capital One, you will be part of a team leading the next wave of disruption using the latest computing and machine learning technologies. You will partner with a cross-functional team to deliver a product customers love, leveraging a broad stack of technologies such as Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more.

The Bureau Data Strategy team produces one of the most highly-used datasets in Capital One from raw credit bureau data. The team is responsible for generating insights, extracting value from Bureau Data, and shaping the future of how credit bureau data is used in underwriting.

Key responsibilities:

- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love

- Leverage technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark to reveal insights in large datasets

- Build machine learning models through all phases of development

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, a leader, technical, and a data guru. They should be comfortable with open-source languages and have hands-on experience developing data science solutions.

Basic qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science) plus 2 years of experience performing data analytics

- Master's Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred qualifications:

- Master's Degree or PhD in STEM field

- Experience working with AWS

- At least 2 years' experience in Python, Scala, or R

- At least 2 years' experience with machine learning and SQL

The salary range for this role varies by location:

- McLean, VA: $135,600 - $154,800

- New York, NY: $148,000 - $168,900

This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives. Capital One offers a comprehensive set of health, financial, and other benefits.
