## Description

As a Manager, Data Science at Capital One, you will lead the next wave of disruption using the latest computing and machine learning technologies across billions of customer records. The Card DS team innovates data handling to transform the business through analytics, infrastructure, valuations, and strategy.

**In this role you will:**

- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-loved products

- Leverage technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark to reveal insights from huge data volumes

- Build machine learning models from design to implementation

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

**The Ideal candidate will be:**

- Curious, creative, and technically skilled with hands-on experience in data science

- Experienced in developing solutions from concept to production using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms

- Statistically-minded with experience in model building, validation, and interpretation

- Customer and product-oriented with a passion for changing banking

**Basic Qualifications:**

- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science)

- Experience performing data analytics

- Experience with open-source programming languages, machine learning, and relational databases

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- PhD in STEM field

- Experience building, deploying, and maintaining high-scale ML systems

- Expertise in Deep Learning models and distributed data processing

**Salary Information:**

- McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100 per year
