## Description

We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Thatcham Court Care Home in Thatcham. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will have day-to-day responsibility for running a unit, supporting with clinical duties, driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, and building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams.

The successful candidate will have completed or be working towards an NVQ3 in care, have previous experience in the role, and possess great interpersonal skills. You will be motivated, positive, and enjoy working in a close-knit team.

**Responsibilities:**

- Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit

- Supporting with clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans, and accurate record keeping

- Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams

- Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported

- Building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses

- Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties

**Requirements:**

- Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care

- Previous experience in the role

- Great interpersonal skills

- Motivated, positive, and enjoys working in a close-knit team
