## Description

Challenge Preparatory Charter School seeks a Grade 7 Social Studies Teacher for the 26-27 school year. The teacher will deliver exceptional instruction, assess student growth, and provide academic and cultural support to students.

Responsibilities:

- Assume a high level of personal responsibility for student progress

- Create academically rigorous and culturally relevant lesson plans, materials, and assessments

- Execute specially designed lesson plans with clear objectives and assess student mastery

- Teach engaging, rigorous, and relevant lessons daily

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including students, families, and staff

- Commit to a school culture of consistency and reflect on implicit biases

- Reflect on data sources to improve practice

- Take on a proactive role in creating a positive and structured school environment

- Collaborate with colleagues to create and refine schoolwide and classroom-based systems

- Ensure effective classroom management and develop strong relationships with students

- Develop and implement individualized behavioral intervention plans

- Participate in opportunities to strengthen pedagogical skills and contribute to colleague learning

- Contribute to the school's smooth operation by fulfilling administrative duties

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Education or History-related field

- New York State Teaching Certification

- Strong understanding of History and its application to real-world problems

- Experience working with high school-aged children

- Exceptional patience and focus

- Strong classroom management skills

- Detail-oriented and highly organized
