## Description

Okta is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Core Engineering team, which builds and evolves shared infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will work on designing, developing, and delivering cloud-based infrastructure projects, driving evaluation and rollout of new features and frameworks, and operating and supporting shared services.

Responsibilities:

- Work with engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver cloud-based infrastructure projects on a modern tech stack (Redis, Docker, Terraform on AWS)

- Drive evaluation, development, and rollout of new common features and frameworks

- Operate, support, and upgrade shared services and frameworks, scaling them as usage grows

- Conduct design and code reviews, ensuring high programming standards

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and fix services and frameworks

- Evaluate system performance and resolve bottlenecks

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers

- Collaborate with architects, QA, product owners, security, and operations engineers

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master's preferred

- 5+ years of programming experience in an object-oriented language like Java, especially in backend services

- Solid technology chops in architecting, implementing, tuning, and debugging large cloud deployments

- Experience with multithreading, garbage collection, and memory management

- Ability to access federal environments and/or have access to protected federal data

- U.S. Person status (e.g., U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee)
