## Description

As a Senior Manager, Data Science - Model Risk at Capital One, you will partner with a cross-functional team to deliver products that customers love. You will leverage a broad stack of technologies, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark, to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of data. Your responsibilities will include building machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation. You will also translate complex work into tangible business goals.

The ideal candidate is a leader who challenges conventional thinking and works with stakeholders to identify and improve the status quo. You are customer-focused, innovative, and statistically-minded, with experience in building models, validating them, and backtesting them.

Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field, plus relevant experience in data analytics, open-source programming languages, machine learning, and relational databases. Preferred qualifications include a PhD in a STEM field, experience with AWS, people management, and advanced skills in Python, Scala, or R.

This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives. Capital One offers a comprehensive set of health, financial, and other benefits.

Salary ranges vary by location: McLean, VA ($229,900 - $262,400), New York, NY ($250,800 - $286,200), Richmond, VA ($209,000 - $238,500), and Riverwoods, IL ($209,000 - $238,500).
