We're seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our team at LayerZero, where you'll play a pivotal role in revolutionizing blockchain interoperability and shaping the future of decentralized applications. As a Backend Engineer, you'll spearhead the development of robust and scalable backend systems that power our web3 technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of backend system design and experience designing complex distributed systems. You should be comfortable writing clean, scalable, and well-tested code, and be able to work in a fast-paced start-up environment, taking initiative and solving problems independently.

Responsibilities include:

- Designing and developing complex backend systems

- Writing clean, scalable, and well-tested code

- Working in a fast-paced start-up environment, taking initiative and solving problems independently

- Handling high-volume transactional data

- Learning new technologies and design patterns

- Articulating complex technical concepts clearly and succinctly

- Solving problems with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

- 2+ years of experience in backend development, building and maintaining scalable, production-grade systems

- Experience with AWS services, particularly related to deploying, managing, and scaling applications

- Proficiency in backend development languages, such as Typescript

- Experience working with workflow engines

- Previous experience with blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and decentralized finance is a strong plus

The base salary for this position ranges from $120,000/year up to $200,000/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. LayerZero is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
