## Description

As a HiL Development Engineer at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany, you will develop complex dynamic Hardware-in-the-loop environments for the company's Formula 1 power unit.

Your role involves creating digital twin models of the Audi F1 power unit, including the high-voltage battery and power electronics, and testing the ECU software before it hits the track.

Key responsibilities include:

- Creating HiL models using MATLAB/Simulink for real-time lap simulation

- Integrating hardware components dedicated to the power electronics domain of the F1 Power Unit

- Developing real-time models related to power electronic components

- Testing and validating embedded software for Battery Management System (BMS) and inverter ECUs on HiL systems

- Analyzing data to validate digital-twin PU models

- Developing test automation and creating measuring set-ups to validate HiL configurations

- Collaborating with the Software Controls Team in daily HiL operations

- Providing HiL support during race events in Audi F1 Mission Control

To succeed in this role, you should have:

- A degree in electrical/electrotechnical/power electronics engineering, mechatronics, or a related field

- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, particularly scripting and modeling real-time targets

- Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop real-time systems, preferably Speedgoat

- Knowledge of modern vehicle control units, CAN, Ethernet, SPI, and signal processing

- Experience with Battery Management System (BMS) ECUs and/or electric motor inverters

- Understanding of modern hybrid powertrains and high-voltage electrical systems

- Familiarity with application tools like Motion Applied toolchain and ETAS INCA

- Agile work methods and Git workflows experience

- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a structured approach to work

- Good command of English; German is a plus
