## Description

We are seeking a Senior Vehicle Structures Architecture Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Vehicle Structures Architecture Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and architecting forward model platform structures 2-3 years before production. Your primary responsibilities will include owning a portion of the platform and driving the design to meet overall system metrics such as safety, piece cost, weight, investment, stamping feasibility, manufacturing feasibility, timing, and quality.

Responsibilities:

- Design advanced/pre-program Body-in-White components (stampings, roll forming, extrusions)

- Coordinate with all stakeholders to achieve Structures functional requirements and timing

- Prepare BOM, cost, weight, and assembly flow documents

- Create 3D package studies to resolve incompatibilities within systems quantitatively

- Prepare benchmarking and attachment C decision matrices

- Prepare and present technical studies to peers and management

- Interface with Design Studio on feasibility and cost implications of various themes

- Create design packages for initial supplier sourcing, vendor tooling, internal manufacturing, and other customers of our designs

- Co-develop advanced features, technologies, and materials

Qualifications:

- BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science

- Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in structures design and release engineering

- Broad exposure to various vehicle types and material types

- Experience with Catia 3dx or an equivalent advanced CAD and PLM system required

- Experience of joining technologies RSW, GMAW, SPR, bolting, and adhesives required

- Experience of BIW sealing is a plus

- Experience in technology development, patent development, and implementation a plus

- Ability to work in a fluid environment when overall vehicle targets, size, appearance, and manufacturing location are not always known

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

- Microsoft Office experience

- Effective oral and written communication skills

- 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving skills
