## Description

As a Principal Associate, Data Scientist - Applied AI at Capital One, you'll be part of a team leading the next wave of disruption using the latest in computing and machine learning technologies.

The Commercial Bank Applied AI team builds enterprise-grade architectures using advanced techniques like Multi-Agent Systems and Context Engineering.

In this role, you will:

- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver Generative AI solutions

- Leverage technologies like Python, LangChain, AWS, and Vector Databases to build Multi-Agent systems and advanced RAG pipelines

- Build Generative AI models and pipelines through all phases of development

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

The ideal candidate is innovative, creative, technical, and statistically-minded, with hands-on experience in machine learning and AI.

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field plus 5 years of experience in data analytics

- Master's Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 3 years of experience in data analytics

- PhD in a quantitative field

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master's Degree in a STEM field plus 3 years of experience in data analytics

- PhD in a STEM field

- Experience in AI, Information Retrieval, Deep Learning, or NLP

- Experience with Python, Scala, or R

- Experience with machine learning and SQL

**Salary Information:**

- McLean, VA: $161,800 - $184,600 per year

- New York, NY: $176,500 - $201,400 per year
