As a Customer and Trading Manager, you will be part of the management team responsible for the day-to-day running of a small supermarket. You will be accountable for ensuring the store operates efficiently and effectively, providing excellent customer service, and leading a team of managers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working closely with a small team of managers to ensure the store runs smoothly every day

- Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store, often being the only manager in with accountability for the full shop

- Working alongside a team to complete all tasks, ensuring customers are served efficiently and safely

- Managing performance and capability, conducting disciplinaries, and ensuring scheduling and pay are accurate

- Collaborating with nearby stores when needed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Previous line management experience in a fast-paced, operational environment

- A track record of delivering excellent customer service and coaching colleagues to do the same

- Experience of leading a team in a customer-facing environment

- Operational leadership skills, with the ability to take responsibility for store operations in the absence of more senior managers

- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs

- Experience of managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management
