## Description

As a Safety Assistant II at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment for the company's employees and contractors.

The primary objective of this role is to support the installation and modernization of US Navy, Coast Guard, and Military Sealift Command platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

- Monitoring and evaluating the workplace to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations

- Conducting surveillance at jobsites and providing feedback to workers, installation leadership, and the safety team

- Providing training to the workforce on GDIT, local, state, federal, and relevant NAVSEA policies and procedures

- Assisting the waterfront workforce and team leaders in aspects of environmental compliance

- Operating independently and providing inputs for process improvement to better protect the workforce and enhance GDIT's ability to meet customer expectations

To succeed in this role, you will need:

- An AS/AA degree or equivalent experience

- 1+ year of related experience

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office

- Good communication and time management skills

- Knowledge of OSHA standards, local Occupational Safety and Health Standards, and environmental regulations

- US citizenship
