## Description

We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Cardiologist for a six-month fixed-term period at University Hospital Lewisham to support the delivery of high-quality inpatient and outpatient cardiology services.

The post-holder will be expected to undertake 3 cardiology clinics each week (4 hours each), and to see predominantly new patients with some follow-up capacity built in. We would encourage colleagues to develop specialty clinics, provided that they are of clinical relevance to the service and local needs.

There is a commitment to adequate levels of secretarial cover on each site. Consultants are provided with sufficient office space and IT support.

We provide five-day ward consultation services on both sites. Consultants participate in a rota to see ward referrals at UHL. We endeavour to see all referrals within 24 hours of referral. The workload varies but a reasonable expectation would be to see an average of 10-15 ward patients per session.

There is currently no on-call commitment.

Candidates are expected to contribute to departmental educational meetings and clinical supervision of doctors in training.

The Trust is committed to providing mentoring to newly appointed consultants.

Applicants must have current UK professional registration.

The salary range is £113,565 to £150,569 a year.
