### About the Role

As a Manager, Applied Researcher at Capital One Canada, you will partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products that change how customers interact with their money.

### Key Responsibilities

- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to develop AI-powered products.

- Utilize a broad stack of technologies, including Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, Lightning, VectorDBs, and more, to analyze large volumes of data.

- Develop AI foundation models through all phases of development, from design to implementation.

- Conduct high-impact applied research to advance AI developments and customer experiences.

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals.

### Requirements

- PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related fields.

- Experience with open-source languages and AI foundation models.

- Understanding of AI methodologies and experience building large deep learning models.

- Track record of delivering models at scale and publishing high-quality ideas.

### Preferred Qualifications

- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

- Experience with NLP, optimization, and finetuning of large language models.

- Publications in deep learning theory and experience with compiler design.
