## Description

Our advanced energy team at Ford Motor Company is seeking a BMS Design & Release Engineer to help establish the foundation for our product execution, safety strategy, and vehicle readiness.

As a BMS Design & Release Engineer, you will own full release and quality accountability for battery management system (BMS) controller assemblies. You will also be responsible for the technical timing plan and supplier technical delivery for the BMS work stream, from concept through production launch and into the field.

Responsibilities:

- Design Release: Own part numbering, drawing and CAD release, engineering change records, and bill of material accuracy for all BMS assemblies. Assess and communicate the cost impact of every design change.

- Quality and Product Integrity: Own design FMEA, control plan, special characteristics, and supplier Schedule A. Drive resulting action closure and warranty investigation.

- Program Timing: Author and maintain the BMS technical timing plan aligned to program gates and vehicle milestones. Own the critical path and escalate ahead of the commit point.

- Supplier Technical Delivery: Own supplier technical delivery against statements of work and committed dates. Lead supplier reviews and drive open-issue closure.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

- 7+ years of engineering experience, including design and release accountability for production electronic hardware through launch.

- Demonstrated ownership of engineering release and change control for a production product.

- Experience with core quality documentation, including DFMEA, DVPR, control plan, and special characteristics.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
