## Description

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) is a scientific expert who builds long-term partnerships with the healthcare community to gather medical insights, support evidence-based understanding of our science, discuss our pipeline, clinical development and data generation strategies, help inform patient care decisions and the development and use of emerging health innovations.

**Key Accountabilities**

- Gather insights on current and future treatment paradigms, patient unmet needs and competitive dynamics that inform research and strategy

- Communicate scientific evidence that advances acknowledgment, understanding and implementation of new healthcare paradigms, and addresses medical unmet needs in line with Strategic Scientific Objectives

- Participate in congresses, key activities include gathering insights during engagements and other activities, staffing Medical Booths, participating in and supporting execution of advisory boards, and reporting insights after the congress during a scientific report session

- Respond to unsolicited requests for Medical Information from healthcare providers in a fair, factual, balanced, and scientifically rigorous manner via the appropriate and preferred channel

- Disseminate important safety information to healthcare professionals as and when this emerges

- Fully understand and comply with GSK standards and policies and with local codes of practice, guidelines and laws to ensure the strictest requirements are met

**Job-Related Experience**

- Degree in medical or other life sciences

- Pharmaceutical industry experience in hepatology therapy area preferred

- Hepatology grounding in clinical, medical and pharmaceutical science with the ability to rapidly assimilate specific and detailed knowledge in these areas

- An understanding of fundamentals of oncology, statistical concepts and analyses

- Business mindset, understanding of external market dynamics, and ability to balance cross-functional objectives

- Ability to leverage digital tools to identify & prioritize external stakeholders enhancing overall external engagement

- Ability to build & maintain trusting relationships with external stakeholders

- Effective communication & listening skills with right level of curiosity, and agility to tailor information to different audiences appropriately

- Ability to interpret & translate complex scientific data into simple messages in the context of overall patient care

- Ability to effectively use multi-channel communication tools to engage external stakeholder
