## Description

Job Title: Metrology Engineer

Ensure the accuracy, reliability and continual improvement of measurement processes that underpin composite product quality at MCTC.

Key Responsibilities:

- Programme, validate and operate CMMs and portable scanning systems, and introduce new measurement methods and technologies where appropriate.

- Plan, conduct and report Measurement System Analyses (MSA) and gauge R&R studies to verify measurement capability.

- Produce, analyse and present Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to support proactive quality control and process improvement.

- Manage the calibration, maintenance and lifecycle of gauges and laboratory measurement equipment (DSC, DMA, microscopes, rheometer, hardness tester).

- Support NPI measurement strategy and provide measurement evidence (PPAP/FAI) to demonstrate launch readiness.

- Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Design and Production to embed robust metrology practices across development and production activities.

- Maintain auditable documentation of measurement procedures, results and equipment records; support audit activity and compliance with quality system requirements.

Requirements:

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, Materials or related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.

- Strong experience programming and operating CMMs and portable scanning systems; practical familiarity with scanning arm systems such as Hexagon’s Romer Arm.

- Proven experience conducting MSA/gauge R&R studies and interpreting results to drive measurement improvements.

- Experience producing and analysing SPC data and working with production and engineering teams to act on findings.

- Practical experience in gauge management, calibration practices and equipment stewardship.

- Familiarity with lab equipment such as DSC, DMA, microscopes, rheometers and hardness testers is desirable.

- Knowledge of metrology software tools (Modus, PolyWorks, or equivalent) and statistical tools (Minitab or equivalent) desirable.
