## Description

As an Environmental Test Technician at Astranis, you will have the unique responsibility of testing our spacecraft, its sub-assemblies, and components through the simulated harsh environments of space. You will also be responsible for operating and maintaining our world-class environmental test lab to ensure its equipment and facilities are always ready to support mission-critical test campaigns.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Independently operating thermal vacuum (TVAC) chambers, thermal chambers, and electrodynamic shakers for component and vehicle-level testing

- Utilizing a wide range of test equipment and data acquisition systems, including building and maintaining specialized test setups

- Proficiently using a variety of software tools and services for test automation, data analysis, documentation, and procurement

- Performing tests and verifications of flight hardware to test requirements, documenting results in a clear, precise, and complete manner to meet product quality standards

- Responsible for maintenance and calibration activities of test equipment

- Interpreting drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, test procedures, etc.

- Support engineering troubleshooting and root cause investigations

- Assist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projects

- Use mechanical hand tools and torque wrenches for various test setups

Requirements include:

- 2+ years of hands-on experience in test, manufacturing, or production environments

- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and organizational skills

- Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted

- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends during critical test campaigns (24/7 operations)

- Capability to work 12-hour shifts during mission-critical operations

- Shift Start Times: 1st shift - 6:00am, 2nd shift - 3:30pm (start time may vary based on operational needs)

Bonus: Experience with thermal, TVAC, vibration, shock, or acoustic testing; familiarity with spacecraft components and environmental testing procedures; material handling equipment certification (cranes, man lifts, forklifts); track record of working independently and collaboratively in technical teams; experience mentoring or training technical personnel.
