## Description

KXTV-TV Sacramento, the TEGNA ABC in Sacramento, seeks a full-time Broadcast Engineer to join the Technology team.

The Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day hands-on maintenance of the station's technical equipment, including traditional broadcast hardware and industry-specific software.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting day-to-day operations of the station, including all daily news operations, equipment, and computer-based IT systems.

- Installing and maintaining broadcast and IT equipment at studio facilities, transmitter sites, in remote broadcast vehicles, and at other remote locations.

- Troubleshooting equipment issues, making repairs or implementing workarounds as needed.

- Performing routine security updates and reboots of broadcast servers.

- Contributing to technical documentation that accurately represents installed equipment.

- Occasional field work on remote productions.

- Minor building-related maintenance tasks occasionally required.

Requirements:

- 3-5 years' experience in broadcast engineering or related field.

- Strong organisational, communications, and time-management skills.

- Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.

- Solid understanding of current computer hardware, network technologies, and Microsoft's Active Directory environment.

- Ability to plan technical projects and clearly communicate the status of problems, provide updates on project progress, and offer solutions to technical issues.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces, pull and install wiring, use hand and power tools, work on small components, and perform other physical tasks.
