## Job Overview

As a Staff / Senior Physical Security Systems Engineer at Anthropic, you will play a crucial role in securing the company's data center footprint by designing and specifying physical security systems for sites. You will work closely with partners, design firms, and integrators to ensure that sites are built to be secure.

## Key Responsibilities

- Design and specify physical security systems for sites, including perimeter and vehicle barriers, intrusion detection, video, security lighting, and site penetrations and utility entry points

- Write performance requirements and verification methods for each control

- Review site designs against performance requirements and provide redlines for design teams

- Test and verify that built systems perform as specified

- Re-verify post-acceptance changes

- Own Anthropic's physical security reference design package and keep it current

- Set technical positions for sites and decide what applies where

- Engineer compensating controls and document deviations

- Work with DCSE, design, construction, and real estate teams, and vendors

- Use Claude throughout the engineering workflow

- Set design and operational requirements for security operations control rooms

- Accept delivered systems against requirements

## Minimum Qualifications

- Designed or specified physical security systems for campus-scale sites

- Experience reading and producing construction documents using standard design and markup tools

- Written performance requirements that are testable

- Run commissioning and acceptance tests against performance criteria

- Derived requirements from a threat basis

- Owned an engineering domain and set approaches

## Preferred Qualifications

- Experience carrying a physical security design from construction documents through construction to acceptance testing

- Experience engineering the security scope of colocation or partner-delivered facilities

- Working knowledge of published standards for standoff, hostile vehicle mitigation, and intrusion detection zoning

- Photometric and video quality measurement experience

- Control room, AV, or network design experience

- Experience using AI-assisted tooling for drafting and review

## Logistics

- Annual salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

- Field relevant to the role

- Hybrid policy: 25% office time
