## Description

We are seeking a Principal Engineer to join our team in HPE Hybrid Cloud. As a Principal Engineer, you will lead the innovation agenda and technology roadmap for our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. You will work with customers to reimagine their IT needs and deliver simple, consumable solutions that drive business results.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for software systems design and development across multiple platforms and organizations.

- Provides end-to-end ownership and technical leadership.

- Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value.

- Anticipates bottlenecks and architects innovative solutions.

- Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards.

- Drives best practices and operational excellence both at the team and organizational level.

- Coaches and mentors junior and mid-level developers to help them grow technically and understand best practices.

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

- 15+ years of experience in a product development environment on storage/system engineering.

- Track record of delivering V1 products in modern storage technologies.

- Experience designing and developing software systems design tools and languages.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong system programming background with C/C++ for large enterprise class software.

- Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and multi-threaded programming.

- In-depth knowledge of OS internals.

**Nice to Have:**

- Prior experience in data-path on large and complex modules, distributed systems, clustering, or HA.

- Experience with memory and space management, virtualization, or de-duplication.

- Knowledge of replication, QoS, storage protocols, and performance tuning.
