As a pioneer in the industry, we have a rich history dating back to 1866 when we introduced the world's first branded motor oil.  **How You'll Make an Impact**  We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Lab Intern to join our team at the Ashland Automotive Propulsion Laboratory. This internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic automotive testing environment focused on internal combustion engines, powertrain components, and vehicle-level testing.  **Responsibilities Include**  * Assist technicians and engineers with maintenance, repairs, and system installations * Help design and set up testing components and mechanical assemblies * Support setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and data acquisition systems * Participate in hands-on problem-solving and diagnostics across test environments * Maintain accurate documentation including maintenance logs, test data, and technical observations * Provide general technical support as needed within the lab * Follow all safety protocols and company procedures in a lab/testing setting  **What You'll Need**  * High school diploma or equivalent required; currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred * Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and tools * Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) * Experience or interest in 3D CAD modeling, 3D printing, or data acquisition systems is a plus * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and general computer use * Strong communication skills (verbal and written) * Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment * Solid problem-solving and analytical thinking skills * Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, walk, climb, and stand for extended periods ""
