## Description

The Capital One Legal Department is seeking a Senior Manager, Senior Counsel to support the Premium Products & Experiences (PPX) team, focusing on the premium credit card business.

In this role, you'll apply your strategic and analytical skills to advise on the team's mission to develop industry-leading products, benefits, and features that deliver unique and differentiated value to customers.

You'll partner with the business on strategy and brainstorming, learn about and deeply understand the business team's intent, investigate and assess legal and business risks, and advise on initiatives, multi-faceted marketing strategies, and customer experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

- Identifying and assessing legal risks associated with Capital One's premium credit card business

- Interpreting laws, regulations, and legal requirements for business teams and legal subject matter experts

- Providing legal support as part of a collaborative and cross-functional team

- Working with stakeholders to address risks, develop creative solutions, and resolve issues

Basic qualifications:

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Active member in good standing of at least one state bar

- At least 5 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm environment, at a government agency, as a military judge advocate, or as in-house counsel

Preferred qualifications:

- 6+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, as a military judge advocate, or at a government agency, ideally involving consumer regulatory, consumer financial services, or fintech industries

- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and flexibility to adapt to changing needs

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others

This role is hybrid, meaning associates will spend 3 days per week onsite in one of the offices listed.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are:

- McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100

- Richmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300

- Riverwoods, IL: $182,500 - $208,300

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
