## Description

We are seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader to join our team at Target. As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members and ensuring that our guests have an exceptional shopping experience.

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $26.00 - $28.00, and the full pay range is $26.00 - $44.20 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including labour markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

- Leading a team of hourly team members and providing guidance and support to ensure that our guests receive exceptional service

- Ensuring that our guests have an exceptional shopping experience by maintaining a clean and organised store environment, accurately pricing and signing merchandise, and providing excellent customer service

- Managing workload and prioritising tasks independently to meet business priorities and deliver sales goals

- Developing and implementing process improvements to enhance workload efficiency and drive results

- Evaluating candidates for open positions and developing a guest-centric team

- Identifying team members for future leader positions and utilising growth development to build a talent pool within the department

- Supporting guest services, such as back-up cashier and digital fulfilment processes

- Demonstrating inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences

- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, following all Target policies and safety procedures

- Leading and demonstrating a safety culture through modelling and recognising safe behaviours, identifying and correcting hazards, and holding team accountable to following safety expectations

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Age 18 or older

- Previous retail experience preferred, but not required

- Ability to lead and hold others accountable

- Effective communication skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
