## Description

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to join our team in Pune, India. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality technology solutions within the Accounting domain. You will be a hands-on engineering lead involved in analysis, design, coding, and release activities. You will champion engineering best practices and guide/mentor the team to achieve high performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the analysis, architecture, design, and implementation of high-quality, scalable technology solutions within the Accounting domain.

- Act as a hands-on engineering leader, contributing directly to solution design, coding, design and code reviews, testing, release activities, and production readiness.

- Provide technical direction for applications built using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and modern front-end technologies.

- Design robust distributed systems and scalable architectures, applying appropriate engineering and integration patterns.

- Drive the adoption of cloud-native engineering practices, including containerization, orchestration, and deployment across GCP or similar cloud platforms.

- Champion engineering excellence through TDD, BDD, automated testing, performance testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

- Improve application reliability, performance, and maintainability through effective data modeling, database optimization, automation, and technical-debt reduction.

- Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across the software development lifecycle, including LLM-based applications, agentic AI workflows, and specification-driven development.

- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and Architects to translate business requirements into practical and sustainable technology solutions.

- Develop a strong understanding of the Accounting business capabilities being digitized or re-engineered and ensure solutions deliver measurable business outcomes.

- Mentor and coach engineers, support technical decision-making, and create an environment that enables teams to deliver consistently at a high level.

- Promote continuous learning, innovation, and upskilling while supporting the professional and technical development of team members.

- Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of technology delivery, proactively identifying risks, resolving complex technical challenges, and ensuring successful implementation.

- Keep abreast of emerging technology, architecture, and engineering trends and assess their relevance to the organization's technology landscape.

Requirements:

- Minimum 14 years of IT industry experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java and full-stack development.

- Deep knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., ReactJS).

- Strong experience in databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL) and solid understanding of data modeling, performance optimization.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure) and containerization (Kubernetes, OpenShift).

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, system design, and scalable architecture patterns.

- Experience in DevOps and CI/CD practices (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), with focus on automation and reliability.

- Strong focus on engineering quality (TDD, BDD, automation testing, performance testing).

- Hands-on or working knowledge of LLM-based applications and experience of building Agentic AI workflows using Spec Driven development with tools like OpenSpec etc.
