## Description

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill has an opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager with active registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council to join our team on our PICU ward.

As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinating shifts, acting as named or associate nurse, delivering and evaluating therapeutic interventions, supporting multidisciplinary working, and helping patients develop coping strategies.

- Supervising, mentoring, and developing colleagues and student nurses, providing clinical supervision, supporting safe staffing, and contributing to recruitment and retention.

- Undertaking ward leadership responsibilities, deputising for the Ward Manager when required, and promoting a positive culture of learning, professional development, and continuous improvement.

## Skills

### Required
- Active Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council
- At least 18 Months – 2 years’ experience post-registration
- Demonstrable expertise within a clinical speciality

### Nice to have
- Experience in a PICU setting
