## Description

ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly qualified Intervention Specialist at Lake Erie Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio. The Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students, with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.

Responsibilities include:

- Working cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities, assist in classroom intervention strategies, modify general education curriculum, and help students with regular class assignments

- Conducting diagnostic assessments for instruction and functional behavior assessments

- Writing and implementing behavior improvement plans

- Facilitating IEP Meetings and writing IEP goals and objectives

- Focusing on student achievement and culture goals, as well as state-specific achievement goals

- Utilizing research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction

- Integrating culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions

- Serving as an advisor for a designated set of students

- Communicating regularly with families regarding student academic and social-emotional growth

- Participating in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips

Requirements:

- Current state license

- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards

- Experience working in a full-room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model

- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment

- High-quality written and verbal communication skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook

- Excellent organization and time management skills

- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team

- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks

- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred
