## Description

We are seeking a Sr. Director - Government Affairs to join our legal department in Washington, DC. As a Government Affairs leader, you will define and lead the Government Affairs strategy for the company, working closely with the global Public Sector business to identify key funding opportunities and messaging aligned to further Elastic's brand and reputation with its government customers.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring company engagement on key legislation and policy initiatives that impact Elastic's business, developing and managing a global Government Affairs strategy, and acting as Elastic's Government Affairs voice in Washington, DC, building and maintaining professional relationships with members of federal, state and local government entities and agencies.

To be successful in this role, you will have 10+ years of experience in public policy / government affairs related work, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with industry groups and/or organizations with complimentary objectives to achieve objectives. You will also have a bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, public administration, business or equivalent.

In addition to your technical skills and experience, you will be a strong communicator and team player, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a global team. You will also have a deep understanding of the US government and politics, with a proven track record of success in navigating complex regulatory environments.
