## Description

We are seeking a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to design, develop, and improve software that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement RESTful microservices for ultra-low latency decisioning using Java (JDK 17+) and Spring Boot

- Develop rule-based decisioning engines that automate business processes and enable dynamic, data-driven decision making

- Engineer features from complex datasets for fraud models using advanced data transformation, extraction, and selection techniques

- Deliver containerized/serverless workloads on AWS (or equivalent) aligned with internal aPaaS/managed services standards

- Build platform components for resiliency and implement automated monitoring/alerting

- Utilize Java and J2EE to develop robust, high-performance, and scalable enterprise applications

- Leverage Spring and Spring Boot frameworks to rapidly deliver deployable web and batch applications

- Develop event-driven solutions leveraging messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka

- Employ source code management and continuous integration tools, including Maven, Jenkins, GitLab, and Bitbucket

As a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer, you will be expected to:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and devise solution strategies

- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and contribute to the organisation's technology communities

- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data

- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability
